Job Summary
The Publicity Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the Literary Publicity team, and oversees the successful planning, execution, and delivery of author publicity campaigns. This role is responsible for managing team resources, balancing workloads, mentoring Publicists and Coordinators, and ensuring campaigns are delivered with excellence while meeting client expectations and agency standards.
Working closely with the Managing Director, the Publicity Manager serves as the operational leader of the Literary Publicity practice. This individual develops efficient workflows, promotes consistency across campaigns, and fosters a collaborative team environment that supports client success, employee development, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Literary Publicity team.
Allocate Publicists and Coordinators across campaigns based on workload, expertise, and client priorities.
Manage team workload and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and at the highest quality.
Ensure publicity strategies, media outreach plans, and campaign deliverables are consistent and effective.
Support the Managing Director in transitioning new client engagements into successful publicity campaigns.
Collaborate with internal teams to leverage publicity initiatives with marketing, social media, and promotional efforts.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in literary publicity, publishing, public relations, or agency communications.
Previous experience leading teams, supervising employees, and managing team resources.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple publicity campaigns and client relationships simultaneously.

Advanced writing, editing, and strategic communication skills.
Extensive experience in media relations and relationship building.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
