The RoleFront-End Web Developer

About You:

As a Front-End Web Developer at LAVIDGE, you will implement and deliver interactive campaigns, emails, websites and applications across Web, social and mobile as needed for Agency clients. You will work on the technology team and interact daily with the other Developers, our Digital Strategists and Art Directors.


  • You have 2-4 years of front-end development experience
  • You have solid knowledge of web/email development technologies and tools
  • You display the ability to work in a fast-paced agency environment with flexibility for changing priorities
  • You are skilled at developing responsive websites/emails using HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery
  • You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training


  • You have the ability to handle multiple projects, relationships and tasks simultaneously
  • You are skilled with multiple years of experience in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery
  • You possess experience working with responsive and dynamic frameworks
  • You have strong experience with email platforms such as Salesforce, Pardot, Infusionsoft, Symphonie
  • Having working knowledge of the following is a plus: Bootstrap, VueJS, NodeJS, XSLT, Angular, Razor, JSON and .NET
  • You have working knowledge of image authoring tools to crop, resize and make minor adjustments to images: Photoshop, etc.
  • You exhibit strong execution and follow-up skills with proactive communication
  • You are a strong problem-solver and you're willing and able to dig into an issue to resolve it
  • You must recognize and adjust to change with considerable variety in the work

About the role:

Essential Functions

  • You'll build interactive campaign assets, emails and websites using HTML5/CSS/JavaScript
  • You'll develop custom HTML email templates and integrate them into Salesforce, Pardot, Infusionsoft, Symphonie and other email platforms
  • You'll review and prepare email tests in Litmus for QA
  • You'll provide email platform and CMS training for staff and clients
  • You'll work closely with Art Directors to execute their creative direction with technological solutions
  • You'll provide timely updates and feedback to Digital Strategists and the Technology Services Director

Job Duties

  • Deliver cross-device, cross-channel interactive campaigns through a variety of platforms and marketing automation systems
  • Develop, maintain and enhance websites, web applications and related components using best practices in development, security and user experience
  • Build and enhance email newsletters, marketing emails, and other email communications
  • Develop emails compatible with widely-used email clients using responsive, mobile-first coding practices
  • Create and set up automated email marketing campaigns and schedule emails for delivery
  • Build responsive websites using the Umbraco content management system, or other systems like WordPress or Drupal as requested by clients, to enable end-users to author and edit content
  • Work closely with Back-End Developers to integrate front-end code into a CMS
  • Support and troubleshoot bugs/errors and provide timely resolution
  • Write and maintain tool and process documentation; maintain and innovate standards and checklists for HTML5/CSS/JavaScript development
  • Work with and educate Art Directors to determine the feasibility of reproducing designs using compliant front-end development standards
  • Integrate with Web-based APIs and systems using REST, JSON, Web Services, XML, and other technologies
  • Ensure cross-browser, cross-device compatibility through testing and quality assurance
  • Assist the Technology team in other related duties as assigned
